Where do I start with Giardia at home?

With the surfaces your pet uses every day: food and water bowls, sleeping place, carrier and the floors where your pet likes to be. The ready-to-use hygiene spray suits these items. For whole floors, add the floor concentrate to your mopping water, as the label says 100 ml to 5 l. Your vet treats your pet while you take care of the surroundings.

Spray, refill pack or floor concentrate: what is the difference?

The spray is ready to use and made for single items. The refill pack holds the same solution as the spray, 2.5 l, and refills your spray bottle five times. A litre costs about a third of the bottle price there. The floor concentrate is more concentrated: you add it to your mopping water, as the label says 100 ml to 5 l, and mop whole floors with it.

Does ViPiBaX® replace the vet?

No. ViPiBaX® hygiene products are for surfaces, not for your pet, and do not treat any disease. Whether your pet has Giardia and how it is treated is decided by your vet after a faecal test. The rapid test is a screening for home use and does not replace that diagnosis. Giard Plus is a complementary feed, not a medicine.

Can I use a regular household disinfectant instead?

We do not comment on other manufacturers’ products. For any biocidal product, check the BAuA notification number, the active substance and the directions on the label. For ViPiBaX, active substance, notification number and directions are on the label and on the product page, and so is the contact time.

Does the product smell strongly?

The formula contains no alcohol and no perfume. The active substance is active chlorine, released from sodium hypochlorite. It has its own smell, and no fragrance covers it. So air the room during and after use.

Giardia cysts reach the home with faeces, for example on floors, in beds and on bowls. While your vet treats your pet, you clean these surfaces. That is what ViPiBaX biocidal products are for: the active substance is active chlorine, and the BAuA notification number is on every label. A notification number is a notification, not an approval.
